Coding Isn't Hard?

Coding isn't that hard.
Just write a function.
And another one.
And then connect them together.
If one of them doesn't work right, you can fix or replace it.
It's just a function, after all.

Or Is It?

It seems that we have nearly infinite learning resources available. But there are still daily posts on Reddit and other sites about being stuck in tutorial hell, and not knowing how to start (or finish) a real project.

If coding is so simple - just connect a bunch of functions and data together - then why is it so hard to learn? I have my theories (though they might be wrong).
